Allen: “A lot” of the crude has moved toward the Mississippi Sound; Storm did NOT break up surface oil

At today’s press briefing National Incident Commander Thad Allen said officials said  “a lot” of the oil “moved northerly toward Mississippi Sound”.

The Associated Press reported, “Experts had hoped the storm would break up and disperse” surface oil, though “Rear Adm. Paul Zukunft, the Coast Guard officer supervising day-to-day cleanup, said that didn’t end up happening.”
