Radiation leaked from a damaged Japanese nuclear reactor north of Tokyo on Saturday, the government said, after an explosion blew the roof off the facility in the wake of a massive earthquake.

The developments raised fears of a meltdown at the plant…

“We are looking into the cause and the situation and we’ll make that public when we have further information,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said after confirming the explosion and radiation leak at the plant. …

NHK television and Jiji news agency said the outer structure of the reactor building that houses the reactor appeared to have blown off, but nuclear experts said this did not necessarily mean the nuclear reactor had been breached. …

    I think it blew but they are trying to avoid a mass panic, and a second is about to blow, it is already the worse nuclear accident of all time if nothing else happens. Where do you put millions of people, I believe that black smoke was the core burning through the floor of the facility. They are saying three were actively producing of the six at that station during the time of the quake, that would be the only good news.

    If radioactivity is heading your way there are several foods which you should take. In addition to iodine, pectin powder and brewers yeast have been found helpful in counteracting radioacativity in animal experiments. Eat mainly fresh raw natural food, completely omitting white refined sugar, white bread, white rice and animal products. Poisons tend to collect in the bodies of secondary consumers such as animals and birds. There is a lower percentage of poisons in plants. In plants such as lettuce and cabbage there is a higher percentage of poison in the outer leaves compared with the inner ones, so it might be best to throw away the outer leaves.
