CBS: LSU professor says BP oil disaster likely cause of Gulf fish with eroded fins and large dark lesions — Almost 50% of snapper had infections in some areas (VIDEO)

Expert: BP spill likely cause of sick Gulf fish – CBS News, August 15, 2011:

More than a year after the largest oil spill in U.S. history, researchers studying the Gulf of Mexico are finding that more fish are sick, and they’re trying to figure out exactly why. […]

“I don’t think we’ll be fishing in five years,” [Lucky Russell, a commercial fisherman] said. […] “Everybody is worried,” Russell said. […]

Jim Cowan, professor of oceanography at Louisiana State University, has analyzed many of these diseased fish.

“When one of these things comes on deck, it’s sort of horrifying,” Cowan said. “I mean, there these large dark lesions and eroded fins and areas on the body where scales have been removed. I’d imagine I’ve seen 30 or 40,000 red snapper in my career, and I’ve never seen anything like this. At all. Ever.” […]

“This whole issue seems to be centered between Galveston and Panama City…” Cowan said. “In fact, almost 50 percent of the red snapper that we caught on some of these reefs had had these secondary infections.” […]

You are indeed right. This ‘episode’ of hiding the truth of what the oil did , and the ‘corrects it’ did to bury the damage will come out.

Alot of people have died due to this horrid pollution of the GOM. There are still people all along the gulf that are having so many medical problems and no drs. to deal with it as it is chemical. They are not schooled in this area.

IF another hurrican comes into the gulf, Mother Nature, in all her force, will spit up and throw onto the land all the garbage that BP has done.

I am not a religious person. I am an athiest… but I do belive in Mother Nature and her POWER. She will, pay back this attrocity.

BP, which is owned by the Queen of England , our ally in war and genocide in the Arab countries, got immunity.
    For Now.

Dow Chemical has a factory at the mouth of the Bay of St. Louis, where I used to live. They polluted that Bay for decades. When Katrina brought that rath to the Gulf, whether it was Nature or HAARP, to cleanse New Orleans of the blacks, ( which is a political issue that I probably should have not put in this post, as MS. and La. are horribly racist ), Katrina belched up all that garbage that laid in the Bay of St. Louis onto the land.

That, was the Katrina Cough. It was all that pollution, IMO, that caused that syndrome, that no one else got all along the devistation. Dow.. Human element.. billbords at the mouth of the Great Ms. in Baton Rouge.

Dow.. a chemical Co. that has polluted the earth almost as badly as BIG OIL..
We could have clean oil production.. but it would mean that the CEO’s and the share holders wouldn’t make the $$$$$ they want and ‘think’ they deserve from their investment.

    GREED !!

My son-in-law works in the oil field, my husband used to work offshore and now is in Pipeline Maintance for a Co. in NC. They fix the old pipes, some of them laid back in the 1940’s that get leaks in them and have to be dug up, cut out and new pipe replaced.

At least, at this point in his live, what he is doing is a good thing. Even if it does support the Oil Community.

This could all be done above board, clean and efficiently, for now untill we come up with a better venue to get elec. and run our vehicles, but Big Oil wants to cut corners, let cranes leak garbage into the GOM, and call it business as usual !!
Why not put a dam gasket on that crane and it wouldn’t drip hydrolic fluid into the GOM.

I hate BP, I will follow them everywhere they go and I will expose them.
I was the one that posted this info on this site. I will NEVER let BP get by with any more of their chicanary.

I Love the GOM.. I used to live in BSL, Ms. I had an area of beach that I walked every Sunday after buying the Sun Newspaper, and went to the beach.
I took a large garbage bag with me. I walked and picked up all the trash others had left behind. I loved doing that. It is one of my fondest memories.

I will protect the GOM untill I die.

Then, it will have to be someone else’s job. But untill then, you have to deal with me..

And that goes for you “HOGAN” you have met your match. I won’t stop. You can promote your bullshit as long as you want, but I know the Oil business in and out and can counter act all your bullshit anytime anywhere !!

Good Luck Shill Oil Polluting Creep!!!
If you loved nature like you love your job you would be a better person.
OIL can be gotten responsibly , but the people you LOVE, more than the land you live on and off of, are after the money.
You are a patsy. and you don’t even know it.. FOOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The state government, BP and oysterers argue about compensation for the death of a Louisiana delicacy
    Aug 27th 2011 | NEW ORLEANS
,,, the men who farm and sell oysters for a living have struggled to get compensation for their losses. In part, that is because the oysters were not killed by the BP Macondo oil spill last year—or not directly. What killed them was the full-bore opening of a series of freshwater “diversions”: sluices designed to help rebuild Louisiana’s eroding coastline by depositing muddy river water in the wetlands.,,,

Again, Xdrfox, you have proven your muster. Great info. It is a precarious time we live in, as I think all would agree. So…let’s all work together, and that includes those opposing views. I welcome an opposing view, but fill it with good info to support that view, or be revealed for what you are. Trolls, shills, patsy, whatever; it will all come out in the wash.
    Peace out!
