Congressman urging help for people who become ill “years in the future due to exposure to dispersants or oil”

Oil spill claims administrator Kenneth Feinberg says difficult issues will be addressed fairly, Times-Picayune, July 21, 2010:

[Administrator of the $20 billion oil spill compensation fund Ken] Feinberg said... once he and his staff determine what total compensation should be... the applicant can decide whether the offer is fair and accept it, in the process waiving rights for additional payments or the right to sue. ...

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., said after the 2001 terrorism attacks, many rescue workers at the downed World Trade Center towers developed illnesses years later because of exposure to toxic chemicals. He urged Feinberg to find a way to compensate people who develop illnesses "years in the future due to exposure to dispersants or oil."

Wow. take $.05 on the dollar now and hope you don't die an early and painful, uncompensated, no insurance death. Nice gov't we have - save BP pockets and let people and way of life die on the cheap. Like the robber barons of old....wave moldy potatoes in front of starving people.
