Plumes of Corexit/oil mix causing microorganisms to have “mutant DNA” that can be “passed on” says USF researcher appearing tomorrow on National Geographic

USF research included in TV special on Gulf spill, Tampa Tribune, September 27, 2010:

The [University of South Florida researchers] discovered plumes of dispersed oil at the bottom of an undersea canyon about 40 miles off the Florida Panhandle.

It was found to be toxic to microscopic sea organisms, causing mutations to their DNA. ...

"I call these canaries in the coal mine as they are the first to feel the effects," [University of South Florida researcher John Paul who is included in a documentary debuting Tuesday night in the National Geographic Channel] says. ...

"The problem with mutant DNA is that it can be passed on and we don't how this will affect fish or other marine life," he says, adding that the effects could last for decades.

  • It seems as if any human being -- anywhere -- can be affected by the newly 'morphed' bacteria. And, worse -- is the knowledge that many species of microorganisms inhabited the water in the GOM; organisms that utilize 02 and those that do not.

And, I cannot imagine how many different species of virus and bacteria have been 'morphed' in the oil and dispersant -- and are waiting for the biological opportunity to claim our flesh.

The oil and dispersant does not threaten only those who live along the coast, the Gulf of Mexico -- but to every human being and animal living on the planet earth.

The more I think about it the worse it gets, and the more angry I become.

Our 'cream-of-the-crop' microbiologists, biologists, geneticist.... have been dying in unusual numbers in the past fifteen years. Other countries have lost many of their scientists too.

    Who will help us?

"The more I think about it the worse it gets, and the more angry I become."

Me too BandB. I feel helpless and useless. I do what I can to pass on the info and get on every body's computer but I don't know what else to do. And it just keeps getting uglier, the potential for disaser of global magnitude. And people here don't seem to care. That's what gets me. They would be angry if it were them affected and others didn't care. But you can't make them wake up, that'll happen when it's too late to do anything.

    Look at this guy!

Ridiculous. And you read through the comments. what a moron. Embarrassing

  • Canuck,

[... And people here don't seem to care...]

I believe they're in *pause* mode: Their sensibilities are so bruised and tattered, that time-out is a requirement to maintain sanity, and to rekindle their energy. Their former life is gone, and although their homes, their furniture, their lawns -- communities, schools, the same freckled faced kid -- dragging his stick along the same metal fence everyday after school... It can all seem the same -- if only for a short period of time as they recover in *pause*.

They're in survival mode and it's perfect for their condition: The fight for economic and physical survival will be long and hard. They are utilizing great emotional and physical abilities for individual and species survival.

That is to pause for a moment, catch your spirit -- and carry-on.

Most don't move because they don't have the money needed to do so. I think they'll wake up when the time is right for them.

Dear BP cabal. Keep up the lovely full page ads depicting your cleanup efforts and crystal white sand. Know that everyone of us working to expose this crime against humanity are incited by those ads to work even harder and faster. Thanks for the great work. pamela

We all have only one hope and that is to pray because the battle for this planet is too big for even our most powerful weapons its a war between God and his angels and Satan and his demons guess who is the destroyer of man . Evil prevails here because of mans fallen nature he has great abilities to do good but he always seems to cchoose evil Like his master Satan it takes the same effort to sdo good yet cruelty is the choice our leaders choose war is their favorite pass time. Greed and cruelty gives them pleasure.

  • The concerns of geologists about a methane explosion and tsunami are well founded, it will happen. The science supports and Jesus is warning people to flee the Gulf regions. Read the prophecies of Linda Newkirk at Book Twelve Chapter 74. Get out while you can, you are being poisoned to death anyway!

Is this their attempt to destroy a large portion of the black people (again, this time make it final) in america? (I lower the 'a' for obvious reasons.)

oh, and doesn't revelation mention something about plagues? just sayin'.....

What happens in the Gulf of Mexico effects all of us. For anyone to suffer is wrong. BP needs to be jailed. Keep close to God. Don't give up Hope. Listen for God's guidance. Families may need to gather together and live tribal...many families under one roof. The Gulf States are now in survival mode. We need to help each other. God Bless You.

I believe they’re in *pause* mode...

Oh, I meant people up here (Canada) don't care. Well, they care, but in a passing 'what can I do about it' way. I know people there care and are probably freaked out, sick, broke, tired and scared. And probably feel abandoned. I know I would. But I care and will do anything I can to not let this drop away. I'm furious about it.

We all are certainly on the cusp of...

  • Canuck,

    I believe you!

    But, what can we do?

I would love to participate in Kindra's Christmas program for the children living through this nightmare. However, even though I saved the page to my 'favorites bar', it is no longer there.

I,ve checked this website and remote websites (articles) related to my browsing, but I just can't find her site.

If I can locate it again, I'd gladly participate and help -- at least as much as I can, by buying the kids Christmas gifts. Kindra has the gifts preselected on her site where the locals benefit, I think.

  • run, don't walk

I saw the X-mas program on the LA Coastal Heritage Society website.

That's a nice gesture with great intentions, but the BEST present you can give any child there is EVACUATION way before X-Mas time!!!

No more excuses!! Stay with long-distance friends or relatives!! Lots of northerners and westerners took in Katrina survivors...

  • run, don't walk,

You're right, but some families there do not have enough money to move: I'm worried about them. And, if they happen to be there when Christmas arrives, I'd want them to have as many gifts as their home can hold.

However, Kindra is in the hospital and I don't believe she will be able to carry through with the Christmas store.

  • I have read seemingly dozens of Forums and hundreds of websites over the last year and, I must say that I am at a loss for words at how deep in the **** we all are.
I hesitate to admit it but I truly believe that prayer, good deeds and education are our only hope to beat this total stuff up.
We were all in a sleep for so long while our Governments all over the world stole our Liberties, Freedom, Science,Children (school indoctination) Democracy, Labor, our very bodies, add infinitum (etc.etc.).
I feel that nothing short of a miracle can save the world now. So lets just pray for the betterment of Mankind, WHAT HAVE WE GOT TO LOSE?

  • Anthony

No offense Stephen, I don't think "GOD" is available right now. However, if you leave a message I'm sure he'll get back to you at his earliest convenience. Thanks for praying. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
