Cousteau granddaughter: Gulf’s marine ecology has been destroyed — “Generations of people who relied upon those waters no longer have a way to make a living”

Jacques Cousteau's Granddaughter Continues His Legacy, Georgetown University News, January 4, 2011:

Alexandra Cousteau.. pointed to the Gulf of Mexico... as a prime example of an ecosystem in extreme distress. Even before the BP oil spill, she said, there was a dead zone “the size of New Jersey"...

“We thought that was the worst,” she said. But now she said it’s clear that marine ecology has been destroyed and the generations of people who relied upon those waters no longer have a way to make a living.

The spill is “an intergenerational issue that we’ve stopped talking about six months after the fact,” Cousteau lamented.

I am honestly terrified of what this spring/summer has in store for us. I don't believe for one minute that there is "no more oil", and I do believe many people are going to get even sicker and even die due to this.

  • Easy goes there: This woman is a member of *the* special "bloodline" and she is not your friend. Watchout for that VAT thing and further reductions in our choice of foods, etc., based on global warming, or anything else they can come up with.

    agreed Biscuit!!

Chelsea, Biscuit and Patty obviously have their heads in the oily sand. Either that or they are employed by BP to spread disinformation. The facts speak for themselves.

What exactly is "systems thinking"? Is it another theoretical solution? Is she saying.. we don't think here in a systematic way?
There are many seasoned experts on this blog...most with little time or patience for theory.

  • yes its true that because of unforunate gulf oil spill incident, there are very much less marine animals have survived this tragedy and are not good enough for those who are dependent in shipping business.
