“Death case” and other test cases likely to prompt settlements by BP — “They can’t afford to have the public find out how bad they’ve been” says attorney

Gulf Crisis Still Unresolved One Year Later, WNCF ABC 32, March 17, 2011:

Jere Beasley, an attorney with the Beasley Allen Law Firm... says a chemical dispersant called corexit which has been banned in the UK and is known to cause cancer, was pumped into the ruptured well last year. ...

The future ramifications of having corexit and oil lingering in the gulf are not fully known.

However, Beasley thinks that BP will want to settle rather than face the first trial in February 2012.

Jere Beasley, Attorney, says, This is going to be a test case, you’ll have a death case, a personal injury case and a non-injury case three separate claims that will be tried together more or less a test case and we think that will bring BP to the table and probably prompt settlements prior to that trial taking place because they can’t because they can’t afford to have the public find out how bad they’ve been.

  • Would like to ask that our website be added to your suggested sites - if you feel appropriate. We re in the process of completely rebuilding the site to include pics of the landfill in Ascension Parish we discovered via gps trackers we put in the dumpsters, which by the way was not on bps list of landfills.
    Thank You for your consideration.

don't want the words murder and man slaughter among inclusion of certain Agencies and arm forces being culpable/attached/incorporated into the law suit, when one door is opened in a court of law of neglect or willful conduct it often opens other doors that I don't think high ups will want to be opened by them at fault directly behind BP so this (may be)<< given ! a settlement to stop more truths from surfacing and before untold numbers of heath issues and loses surface that are expected by many through real science, not doesn't feel right words through industry sock puppets. Bet...This will get buried deeper then The Valdez legal nightmares for the suffering and passed and losses.

  • Isn't it sad, in this case, that the full extent of the problem will probably never surface. But, legally, they can settle out of court.
