Doomed: “They destroyed our lives” says business owner — “I’m done. It’s just too much. I’m about ready for counseling”

Cleanup of Gulf Coast nears end, but buried oil in sands may linger for a long time, Associated Press, December 30, 2010:

Sheryl Lindsay['s]... beach wedding business in Orange Beach has tanked.

"It's just not happening. We have seven weddings booked. Normally at this time of year I would have at least 30 on the books," Lindsay said. "March, April, May and June should be booked solid right now."

Lindsay said her business is doomed, and she is trying to sell it.

"I'm done. It's just too much. I'm about ready for counseling," she said. "They destroyed our lives. Can you imagine not having a paycheck? I never thought I'd be in this situation. It's just sad."

This lady seems to have learned the proper way way to approach what would seem to be an insurmountable problem - relax - talk it out - and get on with life. There isn't anything she can do about the situation.

She could attempt to sue BP. But good luck with that.

Life long process ! May be to no avail.

  • Great blog. So many blogs like yours cover subjects that aren’t found in magazines. I don’t know how we got by 15 years ago with just newspapers and magazines.

No amount of 'counseling' will help. The devastation in the Gulf will remain with you the rest of your life. You, like me, are the walking dead....

If the holocaust stories are true I wonder if the outcome might have been different if when the government came for the victim, the victim made every effort not to go along with the plan. But in this instance the government is too big and too evil for a victim to put up much of a fight so just as I will do Tuesday when I go to the airport - relax and enjoy it - maybe I should tip the TSA person, like in the days long ago when the person wielding the ax was given money so that the cut would be clean.

Initially, most of the victims thought they were leaving their homes for safety: Within a short period of time the news-was-out, that they were being herded to concentration camps and would not be returning. Millions were rounded up as other Germans and peoples tried to hide them away.

Their crime was merely being Jewish; many who were mistaken as Jewish were gathered and taken away as well. However, Hitler managed to hide his Jewish ancestry, as well as his pedophilia and was unscathed as his bloodline was unknown to most.

The United States provided safety for many Jewish *vip's* and most blossomed within the United States, financially and politically. We [govt's] were never opposed -- really, to the holocaust of the Jewish common folk.

Many countries were aware of what was taking place and either ignored it, or agreed with it. And yes, I know that we went in with our war machines blazing and our soldiers saved-the-day for many victims, and just in the nick-of-time.

    I don't understand it either.

kingfish, 12 million civilians died in the holocost. GOM has a pop of 20 million.
I wish we could interview them. They got OUT, trains, planes, on foot, friends in underground and ones that survived emmigrated ELSEWHERE. There is no longer any refuge in the u.s.. So I thought appeals to about 100 countries for political asylum is about appropriate in this situation. Make connections to get the hell out of here.
Particularly I would like to have 5 minutes alone in a room with Mr. Fatpants III, or is it the turd?

The answer to that is simple.. Fifteen years ago there were still ETHICS in reporting.. The major "news" networks weren't controlled like they are now, so they actually reported the news.
But, as you noted, those days are long gone - the internet with sites like this is THE ONLY SOURCE OF TRUTH left- and "they" know it - and it scares them so much that they are trying to control it too- it's just a matter of time -
The BP spill was no accident - by the time most figure it all out it'll be too late..

Are you guys able to read and see it? I ask because it is still on my computer screen and I wonder if it is on yours.

There is nothing in my comment that, IMHO should warrant censoring. I'm puzzled.

MODERATOR: The comment was in need of moderation because it included the word "jew". This is because several months ago too many people were submitting comments that were disparaging to various races and religions. To prevent problematic comments, any mention of several keywords triggered moderation. Thank you for the notice and sorry your comment was not approved sooner.
