Crist wants BP to pay for property losses, Pensacola News journal, July 22, 2010:
Gov. Charlie Crist authorized property appraisers Wednesday to calculate lost real-estate values caused by the Gulf oil spill, so homeowners and businesses can send the tab to BP. ... the governor said "an interim assessment will give homeowners the documentation they need to hold BP accountable." ...
"It basically gives them a down-and-dirty value that they can use, in turn, to send to BP for a claim," [Escambia County Property Appraiser Chris Jones] said.
