The Palm Beach Post reports that the Surfrider Foundation is pursuing broader testing for chemicals in dispersants used by BP and the federal government.
The California based non-profit foundation is "responding to swimmers' reports of nausea and skin and eye irritation" in the Gulf.
"We want to find out what's actually out there, but we want to be sensitive not to create hysteria as well, because so many businesses rely on the gulf," said Surfrider's director of communications.
