Oct. 19: “A seemingly unrelenting tide of oil” surprises pilot with “countless" flights over Gulf in last 6 months (PHOTOS)

Bird's Eye View: Oiled Birds Today In Bay Jimmy, HealthyGulf.org, October 21, 2010:

[T]wo excursions that I took this week to assess the impact s of BP’s drilling disaster clearly show that we are still in an environmental crisis. ...

On Tuesday, October 19th, I hopped in a seaplane and headed out on a flight path that stretched from Belle Chase, Louisiana...

I have seen a lot in the countless flights that I have taken over the last 6 months...

Yet, on this most recent flight even I was surprised (and saddened) to witness a seemingly unrelenting tide of oil hammering our beaches, bays, and estuaries. See for yourself:

It's because the leak hasn't been stopped. And it won't be stopped, because it can't be stopped.

Every official word you hear about it is a lie.

You're right! This crisis is very, very sad. It astounds me most of all how people have just forgotten. I live on the west coast of Florida where there have been tests on the sand that proved there was toxins concentrated in the sand, yet there is not one warning sign posted. I sit in the parking lot at the beach 5 days a week and watch elderly, infants and toddlers go and play in that water and that sand. Makes me just sick....but we must have our tourists, of course. The love of money truly is the root of all evil. The officials in the gulfcoast who are ignoring all of this will have to pay the penalty of their deption before God someday....
