Gulf sheen could be BP spill remnants, Daily Comet, March 22, 2011 at 6:17 pm EDT:
... Coast Guard officials confirmed Tuesday that they have not ruled out the possibility that it is from BP's Deepwater Horizon oil spill...
Some of that sheen, [Grand Isle Fire Chief Aubrey Chiasson] said, included clumps of the peanut-buttery substance workers grew accustomed to seeing at the height of the Deepwater incident, bolstering the potential that at least some of the oil being cleaned up is related to that spill. ...
There is still an amount of sheen offshore that may be headed toward Fourchon and Elmer's Island, officials said. ...
“Especially for people planning their weekends, they need to know that Grand Isle is up and open for business,” Chiasson said.

Ah yes, wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone's weekend plans. What a tragedy that would be.
Come on down to Grand Isle, the water is just fine. Otherwise consider coming to lovely California where the weather is just radiant year round and our beaches are oil free (mostly).
And if you get hungry, have some of this yummy peanut-buttery substance!
I happen to be in California right now and if you look at that map on the right there, it looks like I'm getting the ever-loving tar radiated out of me.
It'll be interesting to see what all of this pollution does to our DNA over the next couple of hundred years. I suspect it won't be pretty.

Anyone see the movie JAWS? This reminds me of the Mayor: “ Come on Down To Amity, Amity as You know Means Friendship.”
