John Large: All the jigsaw pieces of the Three Mile Island disaster are being replicated at this plant - and this has gone beyond Three Mile Island. By the end of this day, we should know what the situation really is.

Independent nuclear safety analyst John Large tells Al Jazeera that, by venting the radioactive steam from the inner reactor into the outer dome, a reaction may have occurred, causing the explosion. When I look at the size of the explosion, it is my opinion that there could be a very large leak ... the fuel continues to generate heat.

If this explosion was/is a meltdown ( from intensity of blast, I don't how it could not be dire and deadly from seeing the force of this blast ! ) it will hamper rescues and relief/cleanup for years, as no one would want to expose themselves to nuclear fallout, each of these reactors produce much more than the Chernobyl reactor but if one goes as it looks to have taken place, the others may also blow and an intense meltdown may domino in the other reactors as well in a cascading anomaly that will endanger all first responders as well as the inhabitants in a large swath of this country. It is emanate that all foreign personnel should be held back until the full scope of the dangers are assessed into the safety and risk involved here ! Putting many more at risk is not going to help this situation in any form at this junction ! If a release of radioactive particles has occurred, it will also get into the jet stream and be brought to other countries and can be brought down as in the form of rain and all people should not allow themselves to be exposed to rain in the next few weeks at least ! These radioactive particles will stay active for hundreds if not thousands of years and exposure to will increase cancer risk exponentially ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bO_2CiDPkA0&feature=player_embedded
