Relief well delayed as Feds order “analysis of the stability of the well”; Restart date is “indeterminate” (VIDEO)

Press Briefing by National Incident Commander Thad Allen, August 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. EDT:

Allen says an order will be issued to continue with the relief well, but that order is dependent on his orders that BP continue with pressure testing and analysis of the stability of the well. Near the end he states that the date drilling is to restart on the relief well is "indeterminate".

Unfortunately, the video is missing one of Allen's statements on the ordered pressure testing, "We're going to conduct this ambient pressure test and analysis of the stability of the well to make sure that as we move forward we know exactly what we can expect and we have the best conversation we can have between the federal science team and the BP engineers."
