Report: NOAA says “49 percent of the oil has been dispersed” into the water column (over 100 MILLION gallons)

Discovery introduces Florida State University oceanographer Ian McDonald as "the first scientist to blow the whistle when NOAA said only 5,000 barrels of oil were leaking daily from the Deepwater Horizon well," adding he has "been studying how oil affects the gulf ecology for the past 25 years."

McDonald "pointed out that NOAA officials denied the existence of underwater plumes of oil for weeks... Now, NOAA officials say that 49 percent of the oil has been dispersed into the water."

"That's an about-face which is not commented on at all," McDonald said to Discovery.
