On the afternoon of July 4, Florida Oil Spill Law was informed that hundreds of tar balls washed ashore in Jensen Beach near Walton Rocks. A photo showed a stack of several dozen. The discovery was made by a local surfer who is familiar with the beach and has not encountered tar there previously.
After arriving on scene around 5:00pm, approximately 10 tar balls were personally identified and photographed. Below are several examples. After around 20 minutes searching, it began to rain and the search was cut short.
